BIOGRAPHY
A six-time EMMY winning composer, music producer,
audio director, educator and renowned guitarist,
Patrick de Caumette creates original scores internationally, serving the film, TV, video game and advertising industries.
Patrick has produced soundtracks for Walt Disney, Netflix, Canal +, ABC, UbiSoft, SYFY, USA Network, Comcast, ...etc
Born in France, and currently residing in Philadelphia, Patrick de Caumette studied music at the Berklee College of Music (Berklee Faculty Award 1984)
His ability to deliver soundtracks in a wide variety of genres and cultures has made him the go-to composer for many industry professionals.
Patrick's work can be heard in the last two seasons of Jerry Seinfeld's "Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee"
Patrick is the composer and audio director of the EMMY award-winning documentary series
“Philadelphia: The Great Experiment”,
a 14-episodes historic series that originally aired on 6ABC.
Patrick de Caumette won the 2013, 2014, 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2020 Mid-Atlantic EMMY Award for his scores for “Fever: 1793”, Breakthrough”, “Disorder”, “An Equal Chance”, “Before Hollywood” and "Corrupt".
His notable scores also include:
“Le Piaf”, a two hundred episodes cartoon series produced in France and directed by Paul & Gaetan Brizzi (Walt Disney, Dreamworks) and distributed globally. As a result of this collaboration, Patrick went on to become the house composer for the Walt Disney France Animation Studios in the 1990’s.
The score for the motion picture “The Shore”, starring Ben Gazzara and Leslie Ann Warren, officially selected at the Toronto International Film Festival in 2006.
As an EMMY-nominated audio director, Patrick oversees all aspects of post production audio for media: dialog,
sound design, score and music supervision.
Patrick de Caumette is the recipient of many advertisement awards, including ADDYS Best of Show, ADDYS Regional Best of Interactive, ADDYS National Finalist, One Club National Finalist, Adweek Spot of the Month...etc
Over the years, Patrick’s exposure to world cultures has significantly influenced his musical universe:
As a guitarist and composer, his collaborations with Caribbean and West African musicians while living in Guadeloupe and Paris inspired him to develop a musical language that transcends his western roots.
His progressive world fusion group has included internationally renowned musicians such as Richard Bona (Pat Metheny, Bobby McFerrin, Herbie Hancock), Will Calhoun (Living Color, Wayne Shorter), Brice Wassy (Jean-Luc Ponty), Kai Edkards (John McLaughlin), Ralph Bowen (Michel Camillo), Nick Manson (Lenny Kravitz)...etc
Patrick teaches "Scoring for Film & Digital Media" as well as "Scoring & Audio Design for Video Games" for Temple University's Boyer School of Music
Patrick lectures internationally (in English, French & Spanish) about Composing for Media, Audio Post Production, MIDI Orchestration and Music Technology.
